Arms & Armour is edited under the auspices of the Royal Armouries, the UK's national museum of arms and armour, alongside an international Editorial Board comprising many of the leading experts in the field.

It is published twice a year in spring and autumn and, in addition to the articles, the journal also includes reviews of recently published books, and announcements and accounts of seminars, conferences and events.

An annual publication featuring the work of the Royal Armouries. Featuring articles about museology, conservation, collection management, display techniques, design, exhibitions, interpretation, and new arms and armour research by experts within and outside of the museum.

In 2004 Arms & Armour: Journal of the Royal Armouries re-launched and replaced what was formerly the Royal Armouries Yearbook as a peer-reviewed academic journal, which aims to encourage and publish serious research in the field from scholars, both professional and amateur, around the world.
