Knights ‘Hand-an-alf’ oak broadsword replica

£12.99

This wooden Knights Broadsword is a replica of a late medieval and Tudor hand and a half.

By the 15th Century plate armour was more protective and the use of shields to protect against blows was no longer necessary. Knights often fought on foot and with no reigns or shield to hold both hands could be used to fight with. For a quick single handed action knights would hold the sword in the right hand but the handle was almost big enough to use with both hands.

This is a highly accurate representative of a Hand and a Half Broadsword. At 2/3 the size of an authentic sword this historic toy is intended for use in role play fun for children over three years. The perfect toy to inspire your child's imagination while encouraging them to learn about history. With a unique guard which will not snap or splinter during play to protect your child.

Made by Tymeagain craftsmen in their workshop in Wylye Valley, Wilshire this beautiful Knights Broadsword Replica is made from solid oak which is sourced from managed sustained plantations for a guaranteed high quality outcome.

Unvarnished to prevent the sword from becoming brittle or breaking the wood has been oiled with linseed oil and should be periodically wiped with a good vegetable oil to nourish and prolong the toys life.
