Talking Points is a new short-form book series from the Royal Armouries, Britain’s national museum of arms and armour. Focusing on issues that have sparked debate or controversy, Talking Points enables authors to publish original research free from artificial length restrictions to ensure the maximum public impact of their work. We encourage future contributions from the broad world of arms and armour research, unlimited by geography, discipline or time period.
With the appointment of Nicholas Merbury as master of the King's Ordnance in the early part of the 15th century, the Royal Armouries commenced its role as the standard setter for arms and armour in this country.
This pride and heritage extends to the Royal Armouries products, inspired by our collections and our special place in Britain's history.
