RA/ID Museum Mission And Escape Room Experience
Royal Armouries presents RA/ID with The Great Escape Game. Together we’ve drawn inspiration from the use of arms and armour in popular culture and created a new world of myth and fantasy. This super-teamed partnership has used all their skills and expertise to bring a brand-new take on an escape room experience you’ll not find anywhere else in the world.
You will be introduced to new characters and stories, inspired by objects within the museum, by following the hidden trail around the different displays and galleries. The trail will end at a mysterious room, a portal to your own adventure in the world of RA/ID.
From the ancient legends of King Arthur, to Lord of the Rings to James Bond, to Star Wars, arms and armour has always been an iconic part of popular culture and myth. We hope you will not only enjoy the adventure, but see the museum objects in a new light, and maybe we will help to inspire the next George Lucas, J K Rowling or JRR Tolkien.
The story so far…
Royal Armouries Agents have discovered an anomaly that appears to be affecting objects within the museum. They have travelled in time and space to mythical realms to discover each object’s alternate history, but to date none of our agents have returned. Fortunately, each agent managed to send a transmission back to base before they lost contact. These messages are located in the museum galleries close to the affected collection pieces. We believe the messages will lead us to discover what happened and help return our Agents to us. So now we need your help. Do you have what it takes to find our Agents? This world and others depend on it!

Due to the nature of the attraction, RA/ID is not recommended to children under 8 years old. Entry is at the discretion of a parent or guardian. Many children will enjoy the experience, but please be aware it does get very dark inside the room and it contains elements of mild threat and violence.
If at any time you need to leave the room, simply speak to the Gatekeeper and they will arrange for you to escape as soon as possible. Please be aware tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
The purpose of this experience is to work together to find and solve puzzles around the museum. This sometimes means that different team members will need to do different things. We have put considerable effort into making this experience as fun and accessible as possible to all Royal Armouries visitors.
In order to complete the experience as it was intended, you will need at least one person in your party who is able to walk upstairs, has reasonable sight with or without glasses, and hearing (this doesn’t all have to be the same person – it’s a team effort!).
If you have any specific queries regarding accessibility, please do contact the museum by email or phone. We will do all we can to ensure you can get the most out of the experience, such as large printed text and alterations to the journey to suit your needs. We also invite carers to arrange a walkthrough prior to booking to ensure it’s suitable.
There is currently no option for school bookings to the experience though if you have something specific in mind please do contact us.
There are a limited number of timed slots each day and these are issued on a first-come, first-served basis.
Tickets cannot be exchanged for any other event or experience at Royal Armouries or The Great Escape Game.
No refunds will be given should a person miss your time slot, or once the experience has begun.
