If you are a UK taxpayer, you can make your gift go further with Gift Aid.

Using Gift Aid means that for every £1 you donate to Royal Armouries, we can claim an extra 25p from HM Revenue and Customs at no extra cost to you.

Our Patrons play a crucial role in helping us care for and grow our collection, as well as ensuring that visitors and communities can learn from and be inspired by it. With opportunities for exclusive behind-the-scenes tours, access to world-class experts, and a calendar of social events to meet other Patrons, you will become part of a close circle of supporters at the heart of the museum. 
For an annual contribution of £1,000, Patrons can enjoy: 
  • Invitations to VIP tours of the White Tower, Tower of London, the Royal armouries in Leeds, and Fort Nelson, Portsmouth
  • Invitations to at least two social events per annum
    • Joint Membership of Historic Royal Palaces, including free admission to some of the country's iconic palaces: Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, Banqueting House, Hillsborough Castle & Gardens
    • A signed copy of Treasures of the Royal Armouries: A Panoply of Arms 
    • Acknowledgement and thanks in our Annual Report
    • Acknowledgement and thanks on our website
    • Be among the first to hear news of developments relating to the future of the Royal Armouries, including collections, research, events and exhibitions 
Becoming a Patron gives you the opportunity to inspire future generations to engage with the continued relevance of arms and armour and their contribution to public life.

Increase your donation by 25% at no additional cost to you.

Royal Armouries Patronage comprises a benefits value detailing the actual cost to
the Royal Armouries. This part of your gift is not eligible for Gift Aid, but we can
benefit from Gift Aid on any donation over and above the benefits value.

Benefits Value: £400
Donation: £600

This means that for £1,000 patronage, Royal Armouries can claim an extra £150,
at no cost to you.

In order to be able to claim Gift Aid on your Patrons donation, we are required to make explicit the commercial value of any benefits we may offer to Patrons. The benefits value is £400 and is available for purchase separately. Please contact the Development Team on developmentd@armouries.org.uk for more details.

Our Charitable Status

Royal Armouries is an exempt charity as listed in the Schedule 3 of the Charities Act 2011 and is recognised as charitable by HM Revenue & Customs and all donations are invested back into the museum, to care for the collection and help to keep it free for future generations to enjoy.
