At 44 cm long this is a life sized reproduction piece that feels reassuringly weighty to hold.
Made from wood, with barrel and forniments in burnished cast metal, this 17th century replica flintlock pistol is not a flashy display piece, but has been crafted to have a distinguished superiority that speaks for itself.
This pistol features an older, chunkier, plain form of stock that is closer to those found on the early flintlock pistols of the 17th century, and a lock of a style developed in France in that century.
The zinc-alloy used in this late 17th Century European flintlock pistol replica is softer than the steel and brass that the barrel and lock components would have originally been forged in.
Despite this European 17th century flintlock pistol being made from materials that are unsuitable for use in real firearms, the firing mechanism does work and the pistol makes a satisfying “clunk" when the trigger is pulled.
With its working firing mechanism, this reproduction pistol would make an ideal prop for Stage and TV performances.
The pistol comes in original packaging, with an information booklet that explains in summary the history of pistols, and the impact they had on society in XVIth – XVII centuries.

Yes the trigger does pull back and cocks.
Is it possible to put orange tips in for use in public for a convention?
There's no requirement for orange muzzles in the UK, and no legal restriction on realistic imitation firearms of a pre-1870 design. Whilst anything resembling a firearm might be deemed a realistic imitation firearm by police if carried in public without good reason, we can't see why a convention or other event wouldn't qualify as good reason. As this should be taking place on private property for one thing, and participants will have a) costumes and b) tickets for the event, demonstrating said good reason.

Please note that it is the customer's responsibility to ensure that there is someone available at the delivery address to accept the parcel. Any parcels that are undelivered, due to nobody being available at the delivery address or incorrect address being provided, or subsequently uncollected from pick-up location, will be returned to sender. We will automatically issue a refund for all products once they have been received back at the museum, however, the cost paid for shipping is non-refundable.

Collect in store
If you choose to collect in store, we will send you a notification once your order is ready to collect. Collections can be made from the shop at Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds during opening hours. You will be required to show your order confirmation email and a form of ID for the name on the order. Limited short stay, road-side parking is available on Clarence Road or Citipark operate the nearby Leeds Dock multi-storey car park. Please note that parking charges may apply.
International shipping outside the UK
All international orders will be sent by courier. The estimated delivery time for European deliveries is 7-10 working days*** and 10-14 working days*** for rest of the world, however this is not guaranteed.
