XVIII century French flintlock musket replica

£149.99

This is a replica of a late 18th century French-style flintlock musket.

Similar to the 'Charleville' musket used in the Napoleonic wars, this is a smaller calibre version that would be easier to carry, reload, and shoot whilst on horseback.

Even though the musket is relatively lightweight to hold, this is a life sized reproduction carbine, measuring 97cm in length.

Beautifully crafted by skilled artisans this replica 18th century flintlock musket embodies quality and attention to detail.

Made from wood, with barrel and fittings in burnished cast metal, this 18th century replica French-style flintlock musket has exquisitely etched patterning around the lock.

The zinc-alloy used in this flintlock musket replica is softer than the steel and brass that the barrel and lock components would have originally been forged in.

Despite this French-style 18th century flintlock carbine having been made from materials that are unsuitable for use in real firearms, the firing mechanism does work and the musket makes an audible 'click' when the trigger is pulled.

With its working firing mechanism this reproduction carbine would make an ideal prop for stage and TV performances.

Our selection of Flintlock pistols do not produce smoke or fire caps.

Does the trigger pull and cock?

Yes the trigger does pull back and cocks.

Is it possible to put orange tips in for use in public for a convention?

There's no requirement for orange muzzles in the UK, and no legal restriction on realistic imitation firearms of a pre-1870 design. Whilst anything resembling a firearm might be deemed a realistic imitation firearm by police if carried in public without good reason, we can't see why a convention or other event wouldn't qualify as good reason. As this should be taking place on private property for one thing, and participants will have a) costumes and b) tickets for the event, demonstrating said good reason.
