Roman legionnaire’s helmet
The army of the Roman Empire was one of the most efficient and deadly military forces of the ancient world. Conquering everywhere from North Africa through much of central Europe and to Britain. The relentless army marched on and at its core was the Legionnaire.
A well trained and armed fighting force, armed with his trusty 'gladius' and wearing his 'lorica segmantata', the helmet ensured that a legionnaire kept his head well protected.
The helmet or 'galea' underwent a number of changes in design before it arrived at the design replicated here by Deepaka.
This style of helmet is modelled after the Gallic G style. It has a sloping neck guard to prevent decapitation by errant Gallic tribes.
Made from 18 gauge steel and modelled closely on surviving examples this highly detailed replica is a real must for the fan of ancient Rome.
The helmet comes with a padded cap on the inside so it is possible to wear and get a feeling for what it was like to wear the helmet of one of the most successful armies of the ancient world.

Please note that it is the customer's responsibility to ensure that there is someone available at the delivery address to accept the parcel. Any parcels that are undelivered, due to nobody being available at the delivery address or incorrect address being provided, or subsequently uncollected from pick-up location, will be returned to sender. We will automatically issue a refund for all products once they have been received back at the museum, however, the cost paid for shipping is non-refundable.
Age verification
All sales of replica blades, replica firearms and alcohol require age verification, therefore, these can only be sent with the Parcelforce Age Check service (24 or 48).
Collect in store
If you choose to collect in store, we will send you a notification once your order is ready to collect. Collections can be made from the shop at Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds during opening hours. You will be required to show your order confirmation email and a form of ID for the name on the order. Limited short stay, road-side parking is available on Clarence Road or Citipark operate the nearby Leeds Dock multi-storey car park. Please note that parking charges may apply.
International shipping outside the UK
All international orders will be sent by courier. The estimated delivery time for European deliveries is 7-10 working days*** and 10-14 working days*** for rest of the world, however this is not guaranteed.
