French flintlock pistol XVIII century — 302

£49.99

This pistol is a replica of an 18th century French Flintlock pistol.

Often used as an adjunct to a sword, this beautifully crafted piece is provided with a two-orders barrel and an enlarged mouth.

The quality and attention to detail is evident with this pistol and is a must for any collector or enthusiast.

The effective range of the French Flintlock is short and, during battle, they were primarily used as self-defense weapons.

The piece itself is entirely made from wood with the barrel and forniments in burnished cast metal. The metal is engraved with intricate floral motives.

At 37cm in length, this is a life-sized reproduction and feels satisfyingly weighty to hold.

Even though the pistol has been made from materials that cannot be used in real firearms, the firing mechanism still produces a satisfying "click" when the trigger is pulled. This piece would therefore be perfect for reinactments or stage performances.

The pistol comes in original packaging, with an information booklet that gives a brief explanation of the history of pistols and the impact they had in the 18th century.

Model made out from the workshop of Johann Haetschweiler.

This is just one in our collection of iconic Flintlock replica pistols.

Please note that due to restrictions imposed by our couriers we are unable to send these replicas outside the U.K.

Packaging Dimensions: Approx. 39 x 11 x 5.5cm

FAQs

Does it produce smoke or fire caps?

Our selection of Flintlock pistols do not produce smoke or fire caps.

Does the trigger pull and cock?

Yes the trigger does pull back and cocks.

Is it possible to put orange tips in for use in public for a convention?

There's no requirement for orange muzzles in the UK, and no legal restriction on realistic imitation firearms of a pre-1870 design. Whilst anything resembling a firearm might be deemed a realistic imitation firearm by police if carried in public without good reason, we can't see why a convention or other event wouldn't qualify as good reason. As this should be taking place on private property for one thing, and participants will have a) costumes and b) tickets for the event, demonstrating said good reason.
