"A gleaming silver sword had appeared inside the hat, its handle glittering with rubies the size of eggs." - Harry Potter

The Sword of Gryffindor was a thousand-year-old piece of weaponry crafted by goblins and wielded by the legendary Godric Gryffindor, a founder of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The sword appears throughout the Harry Potter series. It materialised inside the Sorting Hat and appeared to Harry Potter in the Chamber of Secrets where it was used, by Harry, to kill the Basilisk. Later, Albus Dumbledore and Harry Potter leveraged the Sword of Godric Gryffindor Replica in their search for Horcruxes, using it to destroy Voldemort's immortality.

During the Battle of Hogwarts, the Sword of Godric Gryffindor appeared in the Sorting Hat for Neville Longbottom. Neville used it to eliminate Voldemort's last Horcrux, Nagini, in one fell swoop and restoring the Dark Lord to his mortal form.
